Westminster Theological Seminary in California is one of the higher education institutes located in Escondido. Nearby University/Colleges include Palomar College (approximately 7 miles), and the University of California-San Diego (approximately 18 miles). Escondido is served by the Escondido Union School District, the Escondido Union High School District, and the San Pasqual Unified School District. Some of the larger public schools include Escondido High and San Pasqual High. Some of the larger private schools include Calvin Christian School of ESC and Escondido Adventist Academy. RECREATION
Escondido is known for having three large lakes; Dixon Lake, Lake Wohlford, and Lake Hodges (located in the south western portion of the city). Each of these are great for fishing and boating. There are also numerous parks, soccer arenas, skate parks, and hockey arenas. This big city will never leave you bored.
